24 February 12.00 – 13.00 Employment law update webinar (freefrom your desk) A one hour speed brief looking at significant recent legislation and case law changes and what you can expect in 2017.
16 March 13:00 – 16:30 Mock ET (half day) Always great fun, this “hearing”will give you an opportunity to see how a Tribunal works, participate in cross-examination of witnesses and maybe be a lay member shaping the Tribunal decision.
15 June 10.00 – 16.00 From hiring to firing (full day) This course maps the employment relationship from recruitment, to contracts, absence, disciplinary and grievance issues before finally considering the end of the relationship.
14 September 9.00 – 12.30 Preventing illegal working (half day) An interactive session, including right to work checks and, who can/can’t work in the UK.
26 October  10.00 – 16.00 Managers’ fundamentals (full day) An interactive and practical course, the day is broken down into 3 core modules : managing attendance; handling disciplinaries and grievances; dignity at work.
1 December 10.00 – 16.00 Managing change – a focus on restructuring A look at the employment challenges associated with restructuring a business, including making redundancies using selection criteria and also business closures.

All our open events take place in great meeting locations in Manchester city centre, and are competitively priced (per attendee) at £195 for a half day, and £325 for a full day event, plus VAT.

Bespoke Training

We also recognise that you might want us to come to you to train your team. Our Managers’ Toolkit course is perfect for this, and is a course we have delivered on site to a multinational employer on numerous occasions over the last couple of years. Aimed at those taking up their first managerial position with responsibility for employees, but also benefiting those more experienced managers who wish to refresh their people management skills, we can cover up to 20 managers, providing them with the skills to effectively manage their team.

Often delivered in conjunction with your own HR team, the course can be condensed into one day, but would ideally be run over 1.5 days and covers (in more detail than our Managers’ Fundamentals course listed above):

  • Managing Attendance
  • Conducting disciplinary & grievance procedures
  • Dignity at work

An added benefit is that the course is certificated by Seabury Beaumont via post-course individual assessment, giving comfort that managers have fully taken on board the messages delivered.
